Name of the Week: Rigaberto Lopez

Rigaberto was a contestant on Wipeout, the armed forces edition. He was unfortunately unable to complete the preliminary course with a qualifying time, but on any day his name can chalk one up in the Win Column.

This Week in Scampering: Beach and Public Art

Scampering effectively at a public beach is not easy. First, we had to clear customs in order to even get into the parking lot. This was easy enough with some payment under the table but we had to wait for a guard change to get the Scamper from the lot down to the beach. Once at the beach we waited for a set of waves to end before launch but were not quick enough on launch. We got stopped by the second layer of border patrol. The Charge: no kayaking at the beach. We smooth talked our way out of it, claiming it was a stand up surfboard made of foam (a claim I had to back up later when paddling out). The guard radioed to a higher up who gave us clearance, a higher up being held hostage until he let us through. And thus commenced a day of free scampering at the beach.

Later in the week we spotted a perfect place for Rural Scampering: Public Art. We passed this stairway to heaven and decided it had to be done, boom.
